Loebsack Commends House for Passing Emergency Disaster Funding

Congressman Dave Loebsack released the following statement upon passage of the House Emergency Supplemental bill that included $2.65 billion in emergency funding to assist the communities, residents, and businesses affected by the floods in Iowa and throughout the Midwest.

“Iowa has been hard hit by the recent flooding, and I appreciate my colleague’s cooperation in provide immediate funding to allow our state to begin to address the devastating effects the floods have had on the Second District.

“I am encouraged by the clean-up efforts that have already begun, however we all understand the road to recovery will be long and at times difficult. This is why I am committed to working with my colleagues to ensure continued disaster relief is provided to help residents get back on their feet and businesses up and running once again.

“The people of Iowa have displayed not only their strong spirit, but also their resiliency throughout this disaster. It is with their strength and dedication that we will rebuild our communities and thrive once again.”
